A special issue of the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference (JSPI) will be published  with the conference papers meeting the journal standard.

The papers must be written in good English.

The papers must be of high quality in terms of  their scientific contributions. Though a reasonable amount of compactness is essential, readability of papers is considered important, and too much condensation of material is not insisted upon.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the Publisher.

Professor Sudhir Gupta will be the guest editor of this special issue. Professors Manohar L. Aggarwal,  Lih Y. Deng, and Subir Ghosh will be acting as Associates of Professor Gupta in conducting the editorial process.

Please submit a PDF file of your paper to Professor Sudhir Gupta at sudhir@math.niu.edu for consideration in the special issue.  The deadline for submitting the paper is October 31, 2005.
The special issue will go for publication after the decisions on all submitted papers have been made and also have been approved by  the Editor-in-Chief.  The potential contributors are welcome to inform their intent of the paper submission to Professor Sudhir Gupta by e-mail.
